Traveling in the Salzkammergut and the Salzburg area is a unique experience. Behind every bend in the winding roads, beautiful vistas and unforgettably scenic spots appear time and again. Public transport in the Salzkammergut is well-developed. You will find bus stops just 5 to 7 minutes from Wolf & Schaf Apartments. A ticket for free public transport is included in our services!

From Salzburg & Munich
  • Take the train from Munich and Salzburg to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof.
  • Take bus 150 (stop F at Südtiroler Platz) to Strobl Busbahnhof.
  • Take bus 546 to “St. Wolfgang Schafbergbahnhof”
  • Walk up via Schafbergbahnstraße along the tracks.
  • Turn left at Ried street, cross the SchafbergBahn tracks. Wolf & Schaf Apartments is located 200 meters ahead on the right side.
  • You can also reach us by ferry across the Wolfgangsee (please check the WolfgangseeSchifffahrt operating hours!):
    Bus 150 also stops in Sankt Gilgen. Here you can take the ferry across the Wolfgangsee. Get off in Sankt Gilgen at “St. Gilgen Busbahnhof / Raiffeisenplatz”, from here it is about a 300-meter walk to the Wolfgangsee Schifffahrt pier. Then take the ferry to Sankt Wolfgang SchafbergBahn.

  • From Linz and Vienna
    Take the train to Attnang/Puchheim.
  • In Attnang/Puchheim, change to the train heading towards Bad Ischl.
  • In Bad Ischl, take bus 546 to “St. Wolfgang Schafbergbahnhof”.
    Alternative: take bus 150 to Strobl Busbahnhof. Change here to bus 546 to “St. Wolfgang Schafbergbahnhof”.
  • We recommend installing the OÖVV App on your phone. This allows you to plan public transport journeys with the most up-to-date travel data.
  • From Hallstatt, cross the Hallstättersee by ferry to the train station and take the train to Bad Ischl.
  • In Bad Ischl, take bus 546 to “St. Wolfgang Schafbergbahnhof”. Alternative: Bus 150 to Strobl Busbahnhof. Change here to bus 546.

Are you traveling by public transport? We offer a free ticket for public transport in the Salzburg region, around the Wolfgangsee, and to Bad Ischl. With this ticket, you can use public transport for free in the Salzburg region, around the Wolfgangsee (bus 150 and bus 546), and bus 546, which runs to and from Bad Ischl.
The ticket is valid from the day of arrival until the day of departure.
